CLINICAL PILATES

At Manna Wellness, we offer both private and small group Clinical Pilates sessions across both our Guildford and Darlington/Perth Hills wellness centres. Our Clinical Pilates sessions are led by our Senior Physiotherapist, Lauren, and combine Pilates (including reformer Pilates) and specific rehabilitative clinical exercises tailored to your particular injuries and goals.

  • Our clinical Pilates sessions are perfect for anyone who:

    • Is not feeling quite confident enough going straight into our general reformer Pilates classes, or who is struggling to nail a specific exercise in class and needs some closer attention

    • Is recovering from an injury and requires a tailored rehabilitation program

    • Has a sport-specific or fitness goal and needs a more targeted program

    • Is concerned that their condition or life stage will make it difficult to keep up in larger group classes or simply participate in daily activities

  • To get started with your Clinical Pilates program, you will need to book an Initial Physiotherapy Consultation with one of our physiotherapists for a thorough assessment and to discuss your individual health, rehabilitation and fitness goals.

    During this session, your physiotherapist will discuss with you whether 1:1 or small group clinical exercise sessions will be best suited to your needs. These sessions will include primarily Reformer Pilates-based exercise, but depending on your individual needs, will also incorporate a variety of exercise styles in your program.

    All of our clinical Pilates sessions are claimable on Private Health Insurance (and Medicare for chronic health conditions) and can be booked online or via telephone.

  • Our very talented Senior Physio, Lauren May, leads our over 55’s group clinical exercise sessions on Tuesday mornings at our Darlington studio.

    Classes start at 8.30am and run for 45 minutes.

    These circuit-style sessions will involve cardiopulmonary fitness and strength-based exercises promoting endurance and strength through the upper body, lower body and core. The class will target those having difficulty with: independence/mobility, balance (falls), diabetes, heart disease, osteoporosis, back/neck/chronic pain, depression, weight management and/or sleep.

    Classes are $39 per session. Private health insurance rebates are claimable for physio-led clinical exercise groups with most health funds (Code: 561) . We offer in-clinic claim so you can claim your rebate on the spot!

FEES & REBATES

  • Clinical Pilates Initial Assessment (30 minutes) = $118

    Clinical Pilates Private Subsequent (30 minutes) = $108

    Clinical Pilates Extended Initial Assessment/Private Subsequent (60 minutes) = $186

    Clinical Pilates Clinical Pilates Group (45 minutes; max 3 per group) = $79

    Note that Private Health Rebates apply to all of the above clinical exercise sessions (refer to “Private Insurance” section below).

  • Chronic Disease Management Plan (MBS 10968) Rebate: $58.30 per session (minimum 20-minute appointment)

    The Chronic Disease Management plan initiative allows clients to receive a Medicare rebate for up to 5 sessions per calendar year for the treatment of chronic disease symptoms. To be eligible for a Medicare rebate an individual must be referred by their GP.

    Workcover

    Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) and WorkCover clients are charged at the current WorkCover WA rates.

    Department of Veteran Affairs

    Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) clients are charged at the current DVA rates (being, $70.80 for a 30-minute consultation as of 1 December 2023).

  • Private Health Insurance rebates are claimable for clinical exercise groups with most health funds. The rebate amount varies between funds and depends on your level of coverage. Please make enquiries with your health fund before attending your session. We offer in-clinic claiming so you can claim your rebate on the spot.

    Private Health Insurance rebates are claimable under the following codes:

    Initial: 500

    Subsequent: 505

    Group Clinical Pilates: 560

  • Manna Wellness provides physiotherapy/clinical exercise services to NDIS participants that are self-managed and/or planned managed.

  • We require at least 24 hours’ notice for any rescheduled appointment or cancellations, otherwise, the following fees apply:

    • Cancellation (within 24 hours prior to appointment) — 50% of fee

    • Non-Attendance — Full fee charged.

    Medicare and private health rebates are not claimable for missed appointments.

REFERRALS & FORMS

  • No referral is required to book a clinical Pilates session, although if you have a complex medical history or have undergone multiple investigations, we do suggest bringing a GP referral letter with investigation results. This will be helpful to streamline your physiotherapy treatment and assist us in booking you in with one of our physiotherapists specialising in your area of need.
